The Quadrathlon was conceived by David Fox-Pitt as an interesting way to entertain guests who came to visit Kindrochit during the Summer! It began with just David and one other and they completed the 4 disciplines which included a half mile portage of their kayaks.
In 2003 Artemis Investment Management came on board as a title sponsor of the event giving the event that vital boost to really get it moving. From that point on the event has grown and grown. The Quadrathlon was picked up by the BBC in 2008 and was the featured event on The Adventure Show. The 2011 event was a great success in good weather with our second biggest field to date of 291 crossing the start line of our toughest one day event. The 2010 event sold out in record time and was a real cracker, despite the best of the Scottish weather being thrown at us! Two local doctors set an impressive new course record of 8 hours 10 minutes in glorious weather in 2009. In September 2009 the event was placed in the Daily Telegraphs ‘Top Ten Events’.

The Quadrathlon has also been a real fundraising success story and although it is our smallest event it has pulled in over £850,000 in the past 7 years and thanks to Mercy Corps, that has been match funded by various agencies to an incredible £3.2 million!.
What they said in 2011
14hrs 8mins of my life and what a blast - incredible, I loved it.
Please thank everybody, it was really well run and executed - there was so much encouragement and everybody was fantastic. It made a huge difference coming into a checkpoint or feedstation and people were happy, encouraging and so helpful. Somebody even brought me a cup of tea at the bike transition, and the haggis suppers were special. I loved the variety of what we were doing and also the extra activities you'd put on.
I've done quite a few big events across the country so massive respect to you all. Please let David know that from a participant's point of view this is a very special event and has to be at the top of a must do list.
Looking forward to the next one!
Thank again & all the best

I just wanted to say thank you to you and all the WildFox team for a fantastic event on Saturday. I now understand what everyone previously had raved about - the team were unbelievably supportive and helpful and it could not have been better organised.
Emma and I both thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, what an incredible experience, packed with memories we will never forget.

Cheers for another excellent event. Second to none. Myself and Davie took 1 hour 40 mins off our last time so we're delighted. Maybe catch it again next year.

Despite going through a ridiculous amount of pain and recording a time of over 16 hours I am determined to return in 2012 stronger and fitter to conquer again!
Please let me know when I can register for this amazing event, thank you.

All I wanted to say was that, I have done many races, most running races and a few adventure ones, but this is by far the most exhilarating and amazingly organised I have been to. From registration to the finish, I only met friendly, smiling people; and when you keep going for so long it makes all the difference. Just to give an example, I had a bit of a low point at Kenmore on the bike, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish and I was regretting not taking any food at the Killin fish and chips stop; but then, magically, two friendly faces appeared after the bridge holding trays with cakes and drink! What can I say! These two ladies were my saviours! I managed to finish with a spring in my step, or rather in my pedal! And may I also say a big thank you to the masseur who sorted out my bad shoulder which had been bothering me for weeks!
So again, THANK YOU!
See you next year
Sabine and Pierre
Many thanks for all your support. The event was such an amazing experience and although I wouldn't have said this last week, I am starting to think about finishing under 13 hours, so please keep me updated about next years event.

Strangely, i felt euphoric after the event. It was exhausting, varied and brilliantly thought out and executed by the organisers. The support from fellow quadrathletes and local residents was fantastic and i have been recommending next year’s meet to anybody who'll listen!

I can't quite believe I'm doing this, but, yes, I would like to know when 2012 registration opens. Who needs the Olympics when we have the quad?
We were looking out at the horrendous weather on Saturday and thinking how lucky we were on the 9th. It was an amazing event, and we still can't quite believe we did all that in one day, and that our bodies got us through it all without crumpling in a sweaty heap! The swim was an unequalled Saturday morning wake-up, the hills spectacular, the paddling a challenge (or, at least, the steering!), and then the exhilaration of the cycle, knowing we were on the home stretch. The whole weekend was so much fun. We were so well looked after by all the event staff and volunteers, fed and watered, encouraged, motivated, massaged and entertained, and it all seemed to run like clockwork. We were amazed by the sight of marshals huddled in their tents up those mountains, every single one of them with a smile and some words of encouragement. We're still buzzing on the quad high, and I (can't speak for my team-mate) am continuing to bore the pants off everyone I know by going on and on and on about it. And I only had to walk downstairs backwards, due to sore quads, for three days.
Thanks again to everyone involved for a fantastic experience.
